Today, August 16, was another day, just about like many other days since the order to go home and stay home, but different. I went to church for the first time today, and it was sort of the same, only a little bit different. I also went for a walk outside today, and it was a little bit different, too. It’s already August, and the rain today brought some of the fall flowers out!
I think the point I want to make, is that a lot of things are sort of the same, but we need to make them a little bit different – we have to be careful. I think the technical term is infection control – we have to practice infection control, as we open up. The same experts that we listened to and saved a lot of grief say that Covid-19 is going to be with us a while, perhaps two years or even longer. With that prognosis, we have to open up! It would be so easy to stay safe, and stay home, but we can’t. We have to open, albeit carefully, and start doing most of the things we used to do, that is, before the pandemic. After all, the same reasons that we did the things we did still exist. Perhaps, there may even be some new reasons. In any case, we just have to be careful. Careful to act like we are still in Stage 1, and practice all of the precautions, but we still have to venture out and do the things that we used to do. So, think about it. Think about starting to open up, but open up carefully . . . Please be careful . . . Stay safe, stay well, get some fresh air if you can, and keep smiling . . . ‘til we meet again . . .
